As a black woman, pulling into this neighborhood — I was terrified.

I do not see unity when you raise your Trump + confederate flags.

I do not see equality as you parade your privilege around the capitol.

We are not equals.
We never were.

Your flags & support of this president simply lets me know you’re okay with that.

ive referred to myself as an introvert with extrov ive referred to myself as an introvert with extroverted tendencies for quite some time now. not to overcomplicate my existence or even justify my actions, but because there is no better way to describe me.

i can call you, see you, text you every single day, then go months without. not because i do not value you, but because i need time for self. without my personal time + space i am in no way the best version of me.

while others may need to surround themselves with people or worldly pleasures, i simply find comfort in my bed, in silence, in solitude.

i do not fear being alone. i embrace it. it allows me time to recharge. to think clearly. to fully experience comfort with no requirements or expectations from the outside world.

to the social butterfly, this may seem abnormal. - to me, this is peace 🌈
